Pesticide Defined
Substance for killing 'pests' - usually insects and small anmials that destroy crops or carry disease. Some pesticides - particularly older types - often kill a wide variety of animals. Many modern pesticides are better targeted (kill mainly the animals you intend to kill), and less persistent in the environment.
